Not just siblings but anywhere this applies. In my favorite genieware, which I rarely use anymore, if I knew a sibling's name (for example) but didn't know the parent's names, I'd have to create parents without names in order to put in the sibling. This generates a lot of people named "unknown unknown" or some other placeholder which is ugly. It should be possible to input known people without ever inputting someone whose existence can only be assumed.
On the other hand, if I know that someone had two parents (and most of us do), and I know where they were from according to some source, and that's all I know, there should be a way to input the two people without a name so I can say where they were from. I'll have to put some thought into this. My first impression is that there has to be a placeholder name like "unknown unknown" or "_______ ________" etc. I think the latter is better so it doesn't generate matches when searching for someone whose name starts with a "u". This is actually another topic.
But the main point of this thread is that it should be possible to add a person's siblings without going to the extra trouble of inputting parents when I have literally no info about those parents. It would save time, for example, if Treebard would create placeholder parents named "_____ _____" automatically if I enter a name into a sibling field. The point is that genieware needs to have a sibling input field. The genieware I just tried to use doesn't make this possible so I'd have to create the parents myself when I don't actually want to, in order to say two people of marginal importance to the tree were siblings.
