The "change current person" input at upper right of the person tab has a dropdown that lists everyone in the database and their id number. You can arrow or scroll down to select a new current person to display on the person tab. Or as shown in the screenshot, you can type into the input field and a Person Search dialog will open showing everyone in the database with those letters in his name. As you type more letters, names are filtered out and disappear from the list. You can tab into the list and tab or arrow to the one you want, and press Enter or the spacebar to select the highlighted person as the new current person. The columns are all sortable. The first time you click a column head, the column sorts ascendingly. Click it again and it sorts descendingly.
Other programs don't give you enough information about the persons to tell which one is the one you're looking for. Say for example there are twelve John Smiths, you need more information than just the name and birth/death dates. Too many times I've had to jot down all the id numbers for my John Smiths and look up each one to find the one I'm looking for, so I added the person's parents to the table.
Treebard would rather be too big than too small. I've designed a website that can be used on a variety of screen sizes but it was mostly text. In my opinion, when you're dealing with big tables full of data and complex charts, lose the smartphone and use a computer. This won't prevent some well-meaning person from trying to stuff Treebard into a smartphone... more power to you.
