Currently it seems that witch-hunting or "cancel culture" as it's being called these days has become the new standard for behavior.
Not here.
This is not a blog, it's a forum. I'll use it like a blog till the other members get here. When they do get here, they will not find what I found again today.
In my second recent attempt to join an online genealogy forum so I could ask questions and get feedback from folks with common interests, again it was not worth the trouble nor the heartache. The first time this happened is in a post called something like "Blacklisting is so 20th Century", if I didn't delete it.
Today I posted on a Stack Exchange Q & A forum about genealogy and had my question canceled because of some vague religious dogma wherein The Founder of Stack Exchange was quoted extensively blah blah blah. You know what? Who cares. It's obvious when someone is gleefully wielding power over someone else. Obvious to everyone except the individual who is caught up with the surge of adrenaline he gets from it.
I know there are Facebook groups by the dozen but Facebook is one of those places where you are literally censored for not agreeing with the status quo. More of the same. With the government now trying to create their very own Disinformation Governance Board, witch-hunting is quickly overtaking genealogy in popular online sports.
I just wanted to mention that this forum is open for discussion. There are no right or wrong opinions here. Everyone is welcome, let's stick to genealogy and genealogy software for the most part and try to act like adults, otherwise no one gets canceled here for not fitting into some imaginary template of correctness.
