The YouTube channel is undergoing more than a face lift. I had previously been too busy to consider editing the videos. Now that I'm on vacation from writing code, I've found some good, easy-to-use editing software and I'm enjoying the process of turning raw footage into enjoyable, informative content. The raw footage is still on YouTube but is being replaced, one playlist at a time, with videos which are often just a few minutes long. Without all the fluff and the hoopla, the core information is still good and much easier to get to. The Treebard philosophy playlist has already been replaced. Editing is finished on the Tour playlist and those videos will be uploaded today or tomorrow barring natural disaster or computer meltdown. I've also been busy adding new content (mostly from genealogy sources) to my oldest website. Here's an example page: www.aircaraccess.com/achf-kiser.html

The Treebard GPS tour series on YouTube has been replaced with the same content in an edited form. Total minutes of watching time in this playlist went down from 317 minutes to 101 minutes, with the same practical content.

I'm especially pleased with how the GEDCOM 2024 playlist turned out now that the videos have all been edited. Watch time went down from 239 minutes to 124 minutes.

The video editing is finished. I uploaded the rest of the Do-it-yourself Genealogy Software playlist today. Viewing time of the whole playlist went down from 269 minutes to 130 minutes. One or two videos have been added to the YouTube channel, including one on how to install Python and the rest of a Treebard developer's station. A few videos were deleted. Everything on the YouTube channel has been edited. Most of the videos are still on Rumble.com where they exist in unedited form. I have no plans to do anything with that channel or the videos on it. I won't add any more videos there. Last time I tried, I couldn't. The Odyssee.com channel was deleted. EDIT: The rumble.com account is gone, I just deleted it.

I posted three more videos this week in the series on Do-it-yourself genieware creation. www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5CqiZ3JKt4www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTwq9FO8tSYwww.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvR55YgxYLIThese videos cover replacing the previous colorizer with the new model. The colorizer is the application which makes it very easy to change color schemes and create your own. Treebard might be the only genealogy app with such a simple and capable themes feature. Treebard provides dozens of themes and you can also create your own in seconds. The next project is to learn how to create an executable .exe file so people who want to try using Treebard but don't want to install Python will be able to do it.
