Videos 20, 21, 22 and 23 are uploading to YouTube right now. That should complete the portion of the series I had planned. The events table has been greatly simplified and the code is a lot easier to understand now. The code can still be streamlined as I stopped as soon as I got everything working with the new multi-line autofill widgets.
To finish Chapter 3 of Treebard development, I will soon tackle the rewriting and completion of the places tab.
Chapter 4 of Treebard development will be cleaning up and consolidating to-do lists, unless I change my mind.
Chapter 5 of Treebard development might be creating from scratch a genieware in Delphi and SQLite, to demonstrate that all new genealogy software can be built around the excellent assumptions of UNIGEDS, the Universal Genealogy Data Structure, which is already the back-end of Treebard.
This week I hope to upload all the code to this repo and make a new .exe file.
Here's the complete playlist "Create Your Own Genealogy Software 2024".
This playlist started out as "create your own genieware from scratch" but quickly morphed into a new set of features and improvements that needed to be added to the Treebard code base a.s.a.p. I plan to start a new "create genieware from scratch for absolute beginners" video series using Delphi and SQLite. I've never used Delphi and my first keystroke in Delphi will be recorded as video one in that series. Delphi creates .exe files automatically as you work, a huge benefit to someone like me and possibly a good reason to shift gears and maybe transcend the Python programming if it works out as well as I think it will. If it does work out, I can imagine wanting to translate Treebard from Python into Delphi, to demonstrate that this can be done.
